The Truth About Reiki
You were born with the ability to work with Reiki healing energy and we have all used this ability throughout our lives. Recall a time when you bumped, bruised or scraped yourself. Your first response was to put your hands over the hurt. Your were channelling love healing energy. Perhaps next you ran to mom who kissed it better. Mom was channelling love healing energy. Reiki is a high vibrating love healing energy, it's transformational and once you've been attuned to it, it's always available.
Anyone who has been close to a newborn will have noticed the soft spot on the top of the head which pulses with life force energy and it is open wide. This spot is known as the crown chakra, the energy vortex that is in the first physical location that allows us to take in and release universal life force energy (also known as Chi {Chinese} or Ki {Japanese}).
Growing with Reiki
As we grow, the bones of our skull move to cover and protect this energy centre. The way we interpret our life experiences slowly and almost surely programs our thoughts and beliefs to create energy blocks that restrict the flow through this chakra.
The more restricted the flow of Ki energy, the more we experience emotional disease, physical illness, mental conflict and spiritual struggle. Life becomes hard and painful.
Remembering Reiki
Learning Reiki and being attuned to the Reiki healing energy reopens this vital life force vortex and allows us to consciously bring our energy into balance through mindful intention. Through practice this energy channel becomes cleaner, wider and more receptive. We remember and reclaim our natural ability to heal ourselves and others. We become joyful, harmonious and peaceful.
Once you experience the benefits of Reiki for yourself, you will want to share it with others; your family, your friends and the animals in your life. Every time you share Reiki your healing power increases and healing happens more swiftly and permanently.
Reiki is a healing modality that is passed down from teacher to student through verbal teachings, practical exercises and energy attunements. There are four progressive levels in the Usui Reiki Education. The highest level is called the Master or Teacher (Shinpiden in Japanese). Download Debra's Reiki lineage page here.
All students begin at level one. You will find that each Reiki Master provides teaching in their own unique way. I encourage you to seek out a teacher you feel comfortable with, who walks the talk and has a passion for not only teaching but also learning. I am that for many and I understand that I am not that for all. Acceptance into my classes is granted only to those who I have had a personal conversation with. This can be in person or by phone.
